Some background...
Available to organizations, companies, institutions, etc., the electronic Multifaith Calendar (e.MFC) is a cost-effective way of providing the resources of the Multifaith Calendar (MFC) to a wider group of co-workers, associates, employees, etc.
The electronic/online MFC offers the end users a quick and ready reference to important religious/faith/cultural events, as well as UN observances, lunar phases, and civic holidays (both North American and selected international days). We see the electronic MFC as an environmentally friendly choice and of particular appeal to organizations / institutions.

We also have a General User Tutorial and an Admin User Tutorial for quick walk-throughs.
How do I subscribe to the electronic MFC?
The first step is for the customer to determine how many individuals in the company / organization will be accessing the online Multifaith Calendar. Ultimately, we depend on the customer to accurately determine how many people would be accessing the Electronic MFC.
Once that has been determined, an appropriate plan is chosen (i.e. a one year plan for 25 - 99 staff/employees/students would be $500). Click here to see the full pricing table.
At this point, the customer creates an account and creates both an Admin and General User username and password. The Admin User is able to edit the electronic MFC (i.e. adding organization events, adding a logo, etc.) and the General User will essentially have view only access. You can use the same username for both Admin and General User, but it is important to have two different passwords so you can customize your e.MFC.
For new customers, the sign-up page is here. Please feel free to send us an e.mail for more detailed instructions, particularly if your preference is payment via cheque/check or direct deposit.
Once a subscription plan has been activated, HTML code can be provided to you for the company's web page (accessible for staff/employees/students, etc.), that would allow for automated log-in for your General Users by simply clicking on an icon/widget.
Once a company or organization purchases the Calendar, it is uniquely theirs. It can be customized with unique dates, events in addition to integrating logos, mission statements, etc. The electronic MFC subscription allows for two access points for the customer: The Admin User is able to customize the online/electronic MFC (i.e. adding organization events, adding a logo, mission statement, etc.) and the General User will essentially have reference/view only access.
The other important point is that a one year plan starts on the date of activation. For example, if a customer bought a one year subscription plan in September 2021, they would have access to dates from September 2021 to August 2022 (twelve months, but note that we provide a bonus month to new subcribing organizations).
The idea is for employees/staff/etc. to have direct access to the e.MFC on their desktop or laptop with the simple click of an icon through your base's Intranet.
What are some of the unique features of the e.MFC?
Automated log-in: Any of your staff, employees, etc. who has access to your website will also be able to access the e.MFC without having to remember a username and password. We provide you with the unique url code that will provides for one-click access to your e.MFC web page so your General Users wont have to remember a separate password and log-in manually.
Customization: e.MFC subscriptions include the option to add a logo, mission statement, commitment to diversity, etc. Specific company/organization events/dates associated with diversity (or otherwise) can also be incorporated to keep staff up-to-date with organization events.
Search function: Undertake searches for specific religions or events based on keyword searches. This feature, for example, would provide a quick way to identify when Lunar New Year takes place in 2022.
Religious Accommodation: Provides subscribers with additional useful information around diversity and awareness, particularly relevant for human resources (what observances may need some type of to accommodation by employers (i.e. a day off work or a shorter designated time for religious observance).
Export function: The e.MFC has four export options: .cvs, excel, pdf, and .ics. All can be exported to, for example, Outlook, Google Calendar, iCalendar, csvf file, or printed as a PDF, etc. and is relatively simple to do so with a clickable option once in the subscribers area. It can be done for your entire subscription period or month-by-month.
Export instructions for iCal. Export instructions for Outlook 2010. Export instructions for Google Calendar.
Accessibility: The e.MFC conforms to the criterion set by AChecker, an open source Web accessibility evaluation tool recognized by the Government of Ontario.
This tool checks single HTML pages for conformance with accessibility standards to ensure the content can be accessed by everyone.
Stat counter: A stat counter is embedded in the Admin User version of the subscriber's account to show General User unique views.
How much does a subscription to the e.MFC cost?
Subscription plans are based on the number of employees accessing the e.MFC. For example, for an organization wanting access for less than 25 employees, the cost is $250 for a one year subscription (there is a savings of 10% with a three year subscription - $675 rather than $750). One or three year subscriptions are available.
Additional costing levels can be seen here.
What format is the online calendar in?
The electronic Multifaith Calendar is available online with a password protected subscription. No need to install any software, the e.MFC is hosted on the multifaithcalendar.org website, which has recently been upgraded to enhance load speed, etc.
The electronic MFC is a subscription-only web site and, as such, works on any pc or mac. Once a subscription is confirmed, the e.MFC is accessible to the predetermined number of staff/employees/co-workers, etc. within the customers organization/institution via a common username and password. We also provide a widget (icon) – via html code - that can be put on the organizations Intranet for automated (one-click) login. This can easily be done by your IT rep.
When we subscribe to the online / e.MFC, can we add our events to the online calendar?
Yes, you can absolutely add your own events. When a customer purchases a subscription, a form is filled out where a username and password is identified for the General User (i.e. a staff person, etc.) and an Admin User (the person(s) in the organization who has the ability to add org events, customize, etc.). These passwords are best different for each of the General and Admin Users as you probably would not want individual employees to have the ability to add organization-wide events.
Remember that the e.MFC is not a personal calendar; rather it is a reference-based online calendar where individuals can view and reference multifaith and multicultural celebrations and observances (and whatever org events that are added).Once we confirm and pay, how soon we will get the calendar and what are the specific steps we need to take to put it all on our system?
You can decide when you want your subscription of the e.MFC to start. For example, if you subscribed and paid for a 12 month subscription on May 15, for example, but did not want the subscription to start until June 1... we can arrange for that so your 12 month subscription would run from June 2022 – May 2023 (or any 12-month time period you choose).
Bottom line: we can activate your subscription immediately and it usually takes a day or two to provide you with confirmation.
Does the e.MFC work on a smartphone and tablet?
The Calendar view will be a bit truncated on a smart phone, but would be fine on a tablet. As an FYI, we are currently looking into developing a mobile friendly version of the e.MFC, but it may take us a bit of time. It will probably be more text driven to be appropriate for smaller screens.
Can our staff access the e.MFC from their home computer?
Any of your staff, employees, etc. who have access to your intranet site will also be able to access the e.MFC from whatever computer they are using. Again, we will provide you with html code that will provide for one-click access to your Calendar web page so people on your intranet site wont have to remember a separate password for the Calendar.
