For 27 years, the Multifaith Calendar has honoured and celebrated the work of artists from across the globe.
The Calendar is published by the Multifaith Action Society, a non-profit organization committed to building and strengthening the bridges between communities.
An excellent educational resource, the Multifaith Calendar combines both beauty and substance. It identifies and provides descriptions for dates of significance for 14 world religions. The Calendar also brings together art from many cultural and spiritual backgrounds in a broad array of artistic styles and mediums. This offers the public an opportunity to enjoy art from faiths and cultures they may not normally come across in their daily lives.
MAS wants to extend its gratitude to all of the artists who submitted pieces for the 2013 Multifaith Calendar.
2014 Multifaith Calendar: Call for Submissions

The theme for the 2014 Multifaith Calendar is: Transcendence
Each year The Multifaith Action Society invites artists to submit works of art for publication in our upcoming Multifaith Calendar. The theme for the 2014 edition is 'Transcendence.' The identified theme is open to a wide variety of interpretations - and that very fact - leaves open the possibility for a rich array of artistic submissions.
We all have significant moments in our lives when we have experienced moving from our ordinary, everyday experiences to something larger and bigger than just ourselves. It may be standing on top of a mountain and viewing the expansive landscape below and feeling the immense physical presence of the earth. It may be sitting quietly in front of the fire reading a book and feeling suddenly you like are transported to another place and time.
This theme, 'Transcendence' asks you to think about what has moved you beyond everyday perspectives into something altered, something more.
For example, was it…
Another way to interpret the theme would be how did you achieve something extraordinary that allowed you to “transcend”? This theme really can go many ways. We leave the interpretation to you.
In this year’s 'Call for Submissions' we ask artists to submit a line or two about how this theme is portrayed in each of their artwork submissions. We believe this is a very personal theme and we are interested to know how you think your piece of art embodies this year’s theme.
Work on the theme can be in any medium. The interpretation of the theme will be determined by the overall collection of images received. Our aim is to produce a Calendar that will showcase a variety of interpretations on our theme while creating a visually cohesive product. We encourage all artists to submit images, including artists who have had their work showcased in past Multifaith Calendars.

Deadline for 2014 MFC submissions: 18 January 2013
Note: We cannot guarantee that submissions made after the 18 January deadline will be veted.
We also have the following information available for artists...
We sincerely look forward to the chance to work with you.
